Sodafizz review Australian Search Engine history to bring you our monthly update of hot searches.

Here are the top 5 hot searches for April 2011 using data from Google Insights and Yahoo! Buzz.   Events and Entertainment along with Public Holidays made up the hot searches last month, with the Aussie love of sports filtering through to search.

The Royal Wedding

Nation-wide (as well as globally) there was huge interest in the build up to this event. Varied searches related to the couple and their big day, as well as their post-wedding plans.

Easter

This Australia-wide public holiday generated large volumes of searches relating to not only the religious side of the day, but also public events including NSW Easter Shows.

Australians made many ANZAC related searches during April relating to marches, events as well historical information about the day and its meaning.
