Hot Searches – September 2013

The hot searches top topic for September 2013 Internet search history was the iOS 7 upgrade and the new iPhone 5s.  Also top of searches was the Australian Election and searches on Tony Abbott to read up on his policies now he is Prime Minister.

In comparison to last year, September 2012 – Hot Searches also saw the release of the iPhone 5 and the worldwide Gangnam Style dance craze.

Election 2013 - Tony Abbott

At the beginning of September searches peaked to view the Election results for 2013. Voted in as Prime Minister, searches in September increased as Australians went online to find out more about Tony Abbott’s policies, and the 2013 election. Searches were also high on Tony Abbott’s post-election speech and on Tony Abbott’s 3 daughters who were all wearing white during Tony Abbot’s acceptance speech.

Apple iOS 7 Update

Searches on the new Apple iOS 7 update have spiked this month with iPhone users searching on how to close apps on the new iOS 7 update and fixes of imessage as well as loading the iOS to iPhone 4 and iPad devices.

Searches also increased as the new iPhone 5s and the colourful iPhone 5c were released. Mobile phone networks Telstra and Optus were also highly searched to find plans on the new iPhone 5s.

EB Games - GTA 5

As Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5 was released there was a huge spike in search activity as gamers went online to search for GTA V cheats on the ps3 and availability to buy in EB Games stores, Target, Kmart and BigW.

As the weather starts to warm up, Australians are searching online for the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) weather forecast, radar and warnings. In particular searches for the weather in Sydney and Melbourne have been high.

Breaking Bad - Season 5

American drama series, Breaking Bad was popular throughout September as fans searched for episodes and reviews on IMDb as the series reached its finale. In particular the fourteenth episode of Breaking Bad’s fifth season, “Ozymandias.” was highly searched rated 10/10 on IMDb from over 35,000 users.
