Hot Searches – November 2012

November top Internet searches has seen searches on sport for the Melbourne Cup and the cricket as well as online shopping sales in the lead up to Christmas. Cricket and shopping were also popular in last years Internet searches, Hot Searches – November 2011, although shopping this year was a little different after the Click Frenzy Fail!

Click Frenzy Sale #Fail

The 1-day click frenzy sale was highly searched with many logging on to find out more information about the online sale in Australia. The Click Frenzy site crashed on the day of launch and had many customers and retailers fuming and calling it Click Frenzy Fail. Retailers such as David Jones and Myer also had problems with their own 1-day sales online and the huge amount of people visiting their online shopping sites.

Christmas 2012

Christmas is nearly here and Australians are logging onto the Internet to search for that all important Christmas tree, decorations and lights to decorate their homes as well as Christmas gift ideas for inspiration. Christmas party ideas and Christmas day has also been a highly searched terms to find out where to go for lunch and which day this year falls on…Tuesday!

Melbourne Cup 2012

Melbourne Cup 2012 continued to be a popular search term into November this time to find out about the results of the Melbourne Cup race and horses that won. Searches also centred on watching the Melbourne Cup on live streaming and for the TAB betting sites.

Cricket

It’s that time of year when cricket is on our minds. Australians have been searching online to watch the cricket live on ABC, check out scores and find out about the final test cricket match Australia vs. South Africa.

Oz Lotto

Last month Australian internet searches spiked at the end of October with the 70 million draw, the week that followed into November rolled over to a $100 million Oz Lotto draw prize and resulted in more Australians going online to check lotto results and numbers.
