Hot Searches – October 2012

October top Internet searches focused on the huge storm in New York, Hurricane Sandy, and the sad death of bullied teenager, Amanda Todd. In comparison to last year, Hot Searches – October 2011, Apple was mourning the loss of Steve Jobs and 1 year on has released the new iPad Mini.

Amanda Todd endured 3 years of cyber bullying after being tricked to flash online and in October posted a YouTube video giving details of the Anonymous bully who stalked her and put the photos of her on Facebook. The 15-year-old teenager committed suicide by hanging herself weeks later. The death of Amanda Todd has been at the top of searches worldwide as well as to watch the video of Amanda telling her tragic story on YouTube.

Hurricane Sandy

The biggest storm ever to hit New York, Hurricane Sandy, is also top of the searches for October with many logging online to find out the latest news, updates and live coverage of Hurricane Sandy. Searches have also been to find out where the storm is heading on the live tracker and radar. Our thoughts go out to all those affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Apple iPad Mini and Microsoft Windows 8

Just 1 month after the release of the iPhone 5, Apple has released the new iPad Mini in Australia. Searches online have centred around reviews and price of the iPad Mini as well as on the iPad 3, which was released not long ago. Microsoft has also released the Windows 8 software in October with searching on the Windows 8 upgrade, reviews and Microsoft tablet, Surface.
